GetRouter Documentation
Use GetRouter to access multiple AI models through a unified API or connect supported coding and chat tools with one API key.
Start with three values
You need an API key, the Base URL required by your protocol or tool, and a model ID from the live Models page.
Choose your path
Build with the API
Create an API key, send your first request, and then choose the guide for the protocol or capability you need.
- Create an API key
- Review Base URLs and endpoints
- Send your first API request
- Continue to the API Guides or API Reference
Connect an AI tool
Configure GetRouter in a coding agent, desktop client, or other OpenAI-compatible tool.
- Read the Tool Quick Start
- Check the compatibility guide
- Follow the guide for Codex, Claude Code, OpenClaw, or another supported tool
Quick reference
Different protocols and tools may require different URL suffixes. Do not assume every integration uses /v1; check Base URL and Endpoints and the guide for your tool.
